SPSS also has extensive support for Microsoft Office as well as a wide range of enterprise-level tools developed by IBM. You can import data into SPSS, have it access various independent data sets, and other stores or use the built-in data collection tools that support a wide range of sources. SPSS can even help you create collection mechanisms, such as Web-based surveys with intuitive interfaces.
Once you have data to work on, SPSS helps you analyze it via a broad collection of powerful analytical features. Detail analysis tools lets you scrutinize data on a wide-ranging or granular level, and the software has a particular focus on discovering patterns and trends.
SPSS also supports data modelling, and there are numerous tools available to model data sets in a number of different ways. If you want to reverse a trend or achieve a particular goal, you change one variable at a time and have SPSS model how that change affects the result or forecast.
This tool also provides sophisticated means to visualize data. You can create intricate graphs, charts, and other illustrations, and there are hundreds of design options to choose from. Data sources
SPSS clients currently can only connect to data sources that are:
- provisioned in Cognos Server in Production environment and allow access to your AD account, or
- local data sources you import.

Create a List Report in Cognos

- To access the data sources through Cognos you should create a simple list report inCognos Dev Environment
- Make sure that you filter the data to a manageable size.
- This report should contain no prompts
- Save this report. (Preferably to the folder holding the source reports that will be imported to SPSS)
- Submit a request to migrate your report to Cognos Production
- The migration only happens on the folder level
